I went back home with my friend Heather this weekend...and boy was it an experience. We wanted to go on friday, but it snowed really badly up here and even worse in Waukon. So we waited until Saturday morning. We were driving and it all seemed like typical Iowa. Well then we got into the small towns. I have really never seen one of those towns that only has a few houses and a gas station..well I drove through probably 4 or 5. Heather thought it was hillarious to watch me just look around in amazement. When we got closer to Waukon we drove through Decorah, which was absolutely gorgeous. The bluffs were all covered in snow, and they looked really pretty. I fell in love with the bluffs. When we into Waukon and I was shown the ONE stop light in the county...and trust me i was a little shocked that it was even called a stop light. I really liked the small town feel though. I always wanted to live in a small town when I was little, and I really like the atmosphere. That night we went to see the musical Grease at her old high school. It was really funny being inside as her entire high school was the size of one level of mine. She also knew everyone. I knew most of the people I graduated with, but not like she did. I thought it was so cool, how everyone knew everyone and they were all happy to see her. Overall it was really fun weekend.
I am getting really pumped for thanksgiving break and the rest of the holidays. This is my favorite time of year. I love seeing my family and getting together with everyone. I love all the christmas lights and all the decorations. My mom is the same way and she goes all out for the holidays. We have two trees in our house and our house gives the Griswalds a run for their money. I can't believe this semester is almost over, but that is how my life has been, it goes by soo fast I can't keep up, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
