Adventures of a College SophomoreApril 22, 2007The Home Stretch!!Only 2 weeks left, until summer, and it feels surreal.... So there is only one week of classes until finals, and as every other college student I am constantly busy! Some of it, I will admit, is due to a little bit of procrastination. I have a quiz and a paper to do this week and then all my finals next week. I am all registered for my classes next semester, and ready to take my summer ones head on! I am also juggling my volunteer work and running. I recently signed up for the Chicago Marathon! I am super pumped about it! On a little bit of a more somber note, I am praying for all of those affected by the Virginia Tech shootings. I have been watching it closely, because it relates to me in ways I never thought of. I am in college and although I know this was a result of one person and their mind-set, my parents worry about my safety and how UNI addressed the issue! We were sent emails and informed of the university policies dealing with a crisis. I know when something like this happens there are all these what ifs and the that could happen here, but I didn't think that at all. I feel safe here, its a close knit family atmosphere and one I wouldn't change for the world. Campus is small and secluded from lots of traffic and bussle. It made me appreciate UNI that much more! Heres some pictures from the Kenny Chesney concert!!! It was AMAZING!! There was a really pretty sunset, and I love watching it, I also like watching stars :)
