Adventures of a College SophomoreMay 1, 2007One, Down, One to GO!!I got EXTREMELY lucky and only had to take 2 finals, but it has left me realizing that I am done with my first year of college! So they say the first year is the hardest, Well that could be true, but it is a HuGE growing process! I have changed and grown so much since August. I have made amazing friends that will last a lifetime, and realized things about myself that I would not have found any place else! I was reading a list on facebook the other day titled "40 things College Admissions Didn't Tell You." Here are some of the things on the list I really liked, they are all VERY true!! This past weekend Heather and I went to a walk here in Cedar Falls, for Cystic Fibrosis! I have always been interested in genetic disorders and I want to help patients affected by them, and it is something very close to Heather's heart so when she asked me to go, I was REALLY excited! It also has a connection with two of the facutly here on campus, they are actually the people in charge of it. We found out about it too late to raise a lot of money, but we each donated money. After doing it though we decided, to get more involved with it next year, and raise a lot more money! I am really excited to be involved in something like this, and hopefully we can get a lot of people from campus out there, and donating money! Here are some pictures from the walk... This summer is going to be my last one at home, but its going to be a busy one, I'm taking classes, to get my CNA, working, shadowing and volunteering at the hospital. I am excited for it though. I want to see all my friends and family, and enjoy the gorgeous weather! It has definately been hard to stay inside and study this week. The weather has been bright and happy! Only a few more days with my friends up here, but I'm we will keep in touch over the summer, through facebook. I'm excited to come back though, and see what my sophomore year has in store for me! I am hoping to join some clubs, and I am also going to be hopefully running my marathon in October! This year has seemed so short, but I wouldn't change it for the world, I have grown and experienced something everyone should. |
