Adventures of a College Sophomore

My summer started really slow. I wasn't working much, but all of my friends we back and we had a lot of catching up to do. I spent the first month just working and seeing everyone I missed while I was at school. Before I had left school I was asked if I was interested in attending a Leadership program for a few days in June. I jumped on it, I figured it would be a good way to learn some new things and meet new people. June came before I knew it and I wasn't ready for what I got myself into, but I had the most amazing time! It was truly a joyful experience, that made me examine things very differently. I learned so much about myself, and met a great group of people. I still have things from that week in my room.

I also decided to take a summer class and receive my CNA. Last semester I played with the idea of becoming a Physician's Assistant. I am now pursuing it with all I have. Once my class started I became EXTREMELY busy! I worked, slept and went to class. But despite feeling like school was going to be a break from craziness. I was a little sad to come back to school. Only because my very last summer at home was ending. My parents yet again are trying to adjust to the fact that their little girl is completely leaving the nest. When I was moving in my dad kept telling me he didn't want me bringing more home with me then what I brought up. And I had to keep reminding him that I am spending my summer in Cedar Falls taking classes and will not be returning home. My mom later told me he isn't really ready for it. I can say that I am, but there is a part of me that really wishes I was going to be moving back. I have now come to the realization that I truly am an adult. WoW!!

So here I am in the middle of my second week, of classes, and my life is already busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I am enjoying my classes so far. They are keeping me plenty busy, but I feel like I'm learning and can see everything coming together. I will hopefully be getting a job at a local nursing home and work as a CNA part-time for about 12 hours a week. I finally feel like I'm going to have a job, that is close to what I want to do with my life! I am a complete people person, and have come to realize if I had to sit in an office I would be very bored and depressed. Aside from classes and getting a job, I am joining the Pre-PA club, as well as helping out with a Leadership program, and helping to organize a walk for Cystic Fibrosis here in Cedar Falls. Of course anything else my little heart decides to do, which right now seems to be anything that comes my way! Oh and I can't forget my need to workout and run everyday, without that I would probably lose my mind. (I'm also taking a yoga class once a week, I went to some classes this summer and was so relaxed that I knew it would be good for me up at school. I highly recommend everyone to try it!! ) I am realizing how much I have missed being up here. I have missed the atmosphere, and all the people.

Sadly I was so busy, toward the end of the summer the only pictures I have are from the zoo trip the kids I nanny and i went on! :( Thats okay..I have a feeling this year is going to be full of lots of pictures!
