Adventures of a College Sophomore

Purple, Panthers, and a Whole lotta homecoming...

Homecoming week, didn't really feel as festive for me..but I still had fun with it.

Unfortuately I had to work this past weekend, and missed the homecoming game, but I still enjoyed the week. I went to lots of homecoming activities, like Pride Cry on wednesday, and a couple of other things. All were so much fun! It was awesome on Friday seeing all the students in purple and gold! Even though I had to work, the game was all the residents could talk about. It was so funny and exciting to hear them so pumped about UNI. And unfortuately I wasn't able to go to the game, but all I can say is HOW 'Bout them PANTHERS!! We are doing so well, finding family weekend tickets has been an adventure. Let me tell you..if you have 13 people coming..getting tickets..is going to be hard. My family is still excited to come, even if we can't make it to the game.

This next weekend, I am actually going home for a change. It seems like forever, and I'm so close to my family I have been missing them like crazy! My brother and sister are seniors, which to me seems unreal..but lets hope they survive to make it to college. Ha Ha. My brother is having the worst case of senioritis, and finding out fast that he can't slack off. My sister is figuring out what she wants to do. Its so weird to think that my brother could possibly be here with me next year and my sister could be still at home, attending a community college. I feel really old!! And I'm still only 19, but all the kids I nanny for are getting older, its so weird how time flies! My senior year went fast, but my first year of college was like a subway wizzing past..I was thinking about it the other day and I only have 4 more semesters before i will be applying for grad school!

Midterms were last week, and luckily I didn't have any tests, but I am doing so well in my classes, I must admit I'm pretty shocked and pretty proud of myself. Shocked because I feel like the hours and hours of studying is paying off greatly and because last year I didn't do so hot. Working is making me more and more excited to get out into the hospitals, and clinics and start working. I was sent an email about possibly going to the state medical examiners office and doing a tour kind of thing..most people would probably say no way, and I'm not really into that sort or medicine, but I want to learn as much about each area as possible. When you get your masters as a P.A. you have the ability to which areas at anytime, because of on the job training. I have also recently decided that I am going to be getting a minor in psychology and chemistry. Chemistry, is going to be more difficult as it is not something I'm amazing at, but I'm learning that I really enjoy psychology. I took an AP psych class in high school, and liked it, but I wasn't planning on taking it again. But I needed it as a prerequisit for grad school. Everything is going well and I couldn't ask for more!
