Adventures of a College SophomoreJanuary 28, 2008Faster than Ever! Two weeks of classes have already passed and my eyes hurt from readings, and my hand hurts from notes. Classes are going pretty well, but that doesn't mean that I am not feeling the pain. I have A LOT of reading required for two of the classes I'm taking now, and the other two require a lot of concepts and memorization. Two very different ways of thinking all mashed into one semester. I am starting to wonder if I even have room for it all! On top of all the work at school weekends are turning out just as crazy! I have decided to change jobs, and so I am currently looking for somewhere else to work, but until that all gets settled I have to keeping working every weekend I can, to pay for my plane ticket over spring break. Seems a little soon to be talking about it, but it really is just around the corner. I am going to North Dakota, which most people would think that going to North Dakota wouldn't be that expensive for a plane ticket, well guess again. 500 dollars was a round trip, which isn't too bad, but I am really broke after buying all my books this semester. The trip will be well worth it though, I am going to see my boyfriend who is living there for an internship. Despite not only spring break being just around the corner so is the first exams of the semester. Usually my first exams are mediocore and usually get better or stay steady for the rest of the semester, but hopefully this semester I will be able to start out with a bang. I must say I am kind of skeptical about it, simply because I will have 3 of my first 4 exams in two days. and the 1st exam will only 3 days before. Knowing full well that this was going to be the case I have already started to study for them. One good happening is the weather, today has been the warmest day in Cedar Falls since November 18th, at least that is what one of my professors told our class. I'm sure she is probably right it feels so warm and gorgeous outside, too bad I have A LOT of stuff to do today and getting outside won't able to be on the top of my list. Never fail though, Iowa weather will win again, and it is supposed to get colder this week, and we could possibly have more snow. You just never know what you are going to get. |
