Adventures of a College Sophomore

February 20, 2008

February...BRRRRR

It has been frigid in Cedar Falls pretty much all month. And as usual the days went by so fast I am only 23 days away from spring break.

The first two weeks of this month went by really fast. I had 4 exams, 2 quizes and a project due in a 9 day time period. Believe me it was nuts!! It was really nice leading up to last weekend, I was really excited to see Jeremy. And being the cute boy he is..he came home a day early and surprised me on Valentines day with dinner reservations, and candy!! I have also been super busy with the Leadership Center, and the workshops. I have also been busy with Habitat for Humanity and Sigma Iota. Sigma Iota is a community service group here on campus. I love to help out, and I think that every person should participate in some sort of volunteer work, to give back to their community.

I have also come to the realization that my major has so many possiblities and I am not 100 percent positive that I am ready to commit to just one thing....So of course I am sticking with Biology, with a Chemistry and Psychology minor...but what to do after UNI..i still really don't know. My only option in this case is to job shadow my little butt off and figure out what truly makes me happy. My mom and I had a long conversation about me and figuring out just what I want to do..I know I want to work in Healthcare..what division I have no clue! I am a people pleaser, and I always have been. I really care about my friends and family's opinions, some times too much as my mom tells me. I want them to be proud of me and I know they are..i just wish it was easier to choose!! Right now..i am debating between, Pharmacy, and Pre-PA..the great thing about it is they need almost all the same classes..so I won't have to decide anytime soon. It just goes to show you can change your career with out even changing your major!!

My roommate and I just went outside in the frigid cold to watch the lunar eclipse, although we couldn't see that well because there are a lot of lights around the dorms. I was able to see the Red color. It was soo cool, yes i'm a nerd and think the solar system is cool. Although I don't really like to study it that much, I would love to learn the minor details so that I could identify some parts, but it has never really been my cup of tea in the science field. I am so amazed by the people who can pick out the big dipper and the north star. Well I really should get back to studying, it is already Wednesday night and I have a quiz on friday.
