Meeting/Party! And yes, Kelly sings!

Posted by Kelly

After work on Friday my coworkers and I took a car ride to the beach! Well, near the beach at a really nice villa! It was meeting time! DDA Fesco has semi annual meetings to discuss how the company is doing, set new goals, and look for ways to improve the company. After the business we were treated to a nice dinner complete with lamb BBQ, a bon fire, and a variety show! Two of the employees were the MCs for the night. They introduced each performance and also explained the different games and contests throughout the evening. (It was very well planned and organized!)

The performances varied from karaoke to a 4-man group dance that is definitely YouTube material! Everyone was rolling on the floor laughing at this hysterical routine. The guys choreographed a nice dance skit perfectly to the beat of a techno song! We even requested an encore at the end of the night!

Then it was my group’s turn. With my coworkers, Sophia and Evian, we braved the stage and sang a cute song by Groove Courage called, “God is a Girl.” It was catchy and cute! But knowing I can make people’s ears bleed didn’t really help with my confidence level. Luckily Evian and Sophia have beautiful voices that can mask out my worthless singing. It was actually pretty painless and no one complained about my bad voice so I would call it a success.
The evening also included eating contests (which yours truly got to judge), dancing around the bon fire, and a telephone/charades game.

During the night Chen’s mom (also works at DDA Fesco) explained to the group that I would be going back to America soon. She presented me with a special gift from the company. I felt so honored. I was happy that I got the chance to express my gratitude to everyone and the company. But I was completely caught off guard and almost choked up at the thought of leaving such a wonderful company filled with such generous and welcoming people.

The next day we went to the beach to continue our retreat. We played tug of war, volleyball, cards, and went swimming. My arms still are sore from the tug of war! It was a fun-filled, one-of-a-kind retreat!
