Cut it out
The other day I’m watching an infomercial (yes, I must admit I’m fascinated by such things). Anyway, this guy (who I am sure you have heard of) is demonstrating how his knife can slice through a tomato. And I’m thinking to myself, “What knife can’t cut a tomato?” I mean really, I was tempted to call in and thank the company.
“Yeah, is this the place I can buy those knives that can slice tomatoes? Yeah, I want to get me one of those. What a great idea! For the last couple years I’ve been using my car keys to cut my tomatoes, which kind of works, but as you can imagine it’s a bit messy. But now with your revolutionary product I can finally dice and slice my tomatoes with photographic ease. And I bet I won’t have anymore ketchup coming out my car ignition now either. Thanks a lot for your product.”
‘Course the operator probably wouldn’t even be phased. I’m sure they would happily take down my credit card number as I extolled how wonderful it would be to finally have a knife that will cut through bricks.
