UNI Information Technology Services is planning the integration of mainframe authentication with the CatID Central Authentication System effective at 7:30 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008. Mainframe QWS3270 authentication (password and userid) is required for using transactions such as SIF5, SR05, RS04, SI12, FVSM, PS19, CVBH, etc.
After this change, all users with mainframe access (QWS3270) will use the same username and password to access mainframe transactions that they use to login to the UNI Email, MyUNIverse, and WebCT systems.
This initiative is part of a larger project to reduce the number of different methods of authentication required at UNI.
In March 2007, the first step in that project was to establish your CatID username and password with the Collaboration Suite email system. The second phase was implemented in May 2007 to bring MyUNIverse into CatID authentication and the learning management system (WebCT) was added in January 2008.
