A routine test of UNI's emergency notification system, UNI Alert, will take place at approximately 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7. Please update your emergency contact information.

The eLearning system will be shutdown beginning at 6:00 AM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 for application server maintenance. Maintenance will be completed and service restored by 7:00 AM.

RESCHEDULED: The maintenance scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2009, has been deferred and will now occur at 6:00-7:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2009.

This Saturday at 6AM, we will bring up the custom University Java applications on new hardware. There should be no outage during this transition.

ITS administrative systems (MEMFIS, MyUNIverse, Bb/WebCT, Email, WWW.UNI.EDU, backup, Calendar, network, phone, etc.) will follow our normal operations schedule during this period. The SIS system will be taken down early on December 24th and December 31st.

The botnet that plagued us earlier this month has returned today. The same internet blocks and holes that were put in place last time have been reinstated.

This attack was not as long-lived as the one earlier this month. We have removed the blocks (and holes) earlier this morning. ssh traffic to campus is now back to "normal".

There was a brief outage for approximately 30 minutes of the web based email clients (WebAccess and WebMail) this morning. This outage did not affect email clients such as Thunderbird or Outlook. Service was restored to the web based services by 10:50 a.m.
