10/14/2009 - botnet-based ssh attack

The botnet that plagued us earlier this month has returned today. The same internet blocks and holes that were put in place last time have been reinstated.

These blocks cover *very* large portions of the internet address space. The holes allowing access are for local ISP address space within the blocked regions and for UNI affiliates that need to access campus hosts via secure ssh-derived protocols.

If you or your constituents are unable to access campus resources on tcp/22, please contact your college/division technical people for initial assistance.
