September 24, 2008Water Back On in the Building
The title says it all! Water service has been restored to the east side of the building. (The entrance to the building is on the east side.) All drinking fountains in the building, all restrooms on the west side (facing the Campanile), and the fourth floor east restrooms are now open for business.
However, the first through third floor east men's and women's restrooms will still be closed due to renovations already in progress.
Thank you for your patience while the water was turned off.

East Restrooms to be Closed for Renovations
The Library's first, second, and third floor East men's and women's restrooms will be closed for renovations beginning Tuesday, September 9th. The restrooms will receive updated plumbing and faucets and will be made wheelchair accessible. The renovations should be completed this semester.
The men's and women's restrooms on the fourth floor will remain open, as well as the west restrooms on the first through third floors.
The demolition work this week will be noisy. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you need assistance locating a quiet place to work in the building please see staff at the Reference Desk or the Circulation Desk.

September 3, 2008Rod Library Catalog Unavailable Sept. 27-28
The software that runs the Rod Library catalog, also known as UNISTAR, is going to be moved to a new and more powerful server the weekend of Sept. 27-28. During the migration the web interface to the catalog will be unavailable, but checking out books and non-electronic reserve items will be possible at the respective service desks. However, users should determine the call numbers of any items they might need over the weekend before the migration starts.
Apart from UNISTAR, the migration will not affect the online research databases available through Panther Prowler. However, remote access to databases from off campus will take place through EZproxy instead of the authentication module of the catalog system.
