December 19, 2008New Monthly Lists of New Library Items
A new version of the monthly lists of new titles at Rod Library was recently unveiled. At the site, you may view new titles organized several different ways:
- Broad subject categories, like Humanities or Science & Technology
- Narrower subject categories, like Music, Psychology, or Biology
- Special locations within the library, like the Youth Collection or the Browsing Room
- Special media, like CDs and DVDs
By default, you'll see the new items for the most recent calendar month, but you may also choose to view new titles from any of the previous six months.
While at the site, you may also subscribe to an email alert, which will remind you once a month when new information is added to the site.
If you have any questions, please contact Clint Wrede.

Please Pardon Our Mess and Noise
Construction on the third floor begins in earnest today as contractors begin working on the floor in the former Art and Music Collection. This space will become storage space for Special Collections and University Archives. For three or four days this week contractors will be using a machine to remove glue from the floor. This process will unfortunately be noisy. If you need assistance locating a quiet place to study please check with the friendly staff at the Circulation Desk on the second floor. Thank you for your patience as we try to improve our facility.

December 3, 2008Two Career Collections?!
Since shortly after the Gilchrist fire in 2005, the Rod Library has been housing two Career Collections containing occupational information, employment forecasts, job hunting tips, and resume writing guides—the Rod Library Career Collection (on the north side of the Library) and the Career Services Library (that was temporarily housed near the Rod Library Career Collection). The Career Services Library has now returned home. The Career Services Library is now available in the entrance area of 102 Gilchrist and is overseen by Isabela Varela (3-6857). If you are interested in learning more about the Rod Library Career Collection, please ask at the main floor Reference Desk.
