I’d like to welcome everyone back for the start of the 2007-2008 academic year. For you new students and faculty, the library building is located about a block northeast of the Curris Business Building, west of Maucker Union.

The purpose of this blog is to communicate with UNI College of Business Administration students, faculty, and others about library search tools, tips, and research news related to their major fields of study and research.

I will post entries here about new or changed resources and services. If certain questions are being asked regularly, I will post entries intended to provide tips and point students in the right direction.

Want to IM me a question about a blog entry or about finding information on some topic? Use the small Ask Me Now box on the right side of the Main Bizblog screen OR your favorite IM service (Yahoo IM!, AIM, etc.) You'll see the phrase "Stan Lyle is online" below Ask Me Now if I'm in my office and available to answer questions.

Welcome! The purpose of the Rod Library BizBlog is to communicate with UNI College of Business Administration students, faculty, and others about library research tools, tips, and research news related to their major fields of study and research.

I will periodically post entries about new resources or new features of resources that have been around a while. If I notice the same questions being asked regularly, I may post entries that make suggestions or give tips on how to address the questions. Such postings are intended to point students in the right direction, not do the assignment for them. Students are responsible for making sure they understand their own assignments. Students and faculty are invited to contact me if they would like an entry on some particular topic or search technique.

How to use the Rod Library BizBlog? Entries are arranged from new to old. They also are arranged by categories on the right side of the screen. To see whether there is an entry on some particular topic, use the “Search this blog” box on the right side of the screen.

The blogger, Stan Lyle, is a reference librarian and bibliographer at the Rod Library, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa. He has reference and instruction responsibilities for business and economics and serves as bibliographer for accounting, economics, and finance.
