One month later... I finally called her, had an interview, and... a month or two later, here I am. Blogging for the university. It's a long, yet really uncomplicated story.
The catch about all of this is that it's never been done before, which is kind of exciting. It's always fun to be the guinea pig every once in awhile. but I'm here to be the average college student and live an average life and have every average person read about it.
WRONG!
It's gonna be fun, crazy, and wild! Actually, no, not all the time. I'm sure it'll be a roller coaster. Starting at a whole new place in the fall... living OUTSIDE of my parents house... living with someone i don't really know... taking harder classes (at least... they tell us they're harder, i guess we'll see)... and preparing myself for the journey of life.
Can you tell I'm putting off talking about myself?
Regardless, i'm sure you're all in for a ride. and I don't know how you got here, but I hope you enjoy.
Now let's see... a low-down on my life.
I'm CJ. Simple. C as in cat, J as in jam. No periods, please.
I'm 18... and I've been so for... a week? Yeah. :).
I've lived in Cedar Falls all my life (and I guess I plan to stay here for a little while).
I probably spend too much time on the computer, but I hate TV. When you're sitting in front of the TV, it's you and a box that only receives information from far off places. When it's you and the computer, you can actually SEND information to far off places... and communicate with people. I'm a sociable person, and I feel much less wasted on the computer. Who knows? Maybe i'll start watching TV more when college starts. I'm a little afraid of that.
Lately, I spend most of my time working (at Hy-Vee, every midwestern kid's dream job, eh?) and hanging out with friends.
I also like to travel. And by travel, I mean drive to iowa city and des moines to visit friends.
I love music. All kinds of music. However, I'm a die hard fan of techno and trance... electronica stuff. Strange and unusual, I know. But hey, it's me.
Speaking of music, I was going to be a music major in the fall starting out at UNI. However, that has changed. I didn't want to weigh myself down with lots of music classes, and wanted to open it up a bit, so instead I'm on the track for a music minor... but can switch if I want to. Easy enough i guess.
The worst thing so far about college is trying to choose what I want to major in. I'm interested in too many things to decide now, especially fresh out of high school. Eh, I've got time.
I love French, and I hope to spend time in France or Africa some day.
I'm hoping that college will open up new opportunities for me that I didn't have in high school. I know that sounds so... cliché, but i really want to study abroad, and I'm really debating becoming an RA.
I really don't know what else to write, so I guess i'll leave it at that. Getting to know me is a long process... and hopefully this blog will let you in on a few thoughts from me about life after high school :O.
