Mindless Ramblings of That One Guy

yeah, it was pretty sweet. the presidential scholars got to go over to ben's house and have a little dessert with him. he's gonna do a lot of good things for this university, and i'm glad that he's here.

another thing that i've been busy with the past few weeks in the panther pride cry. when people ask, "oh, what is that?" i really don't even know how to describe it. it's like... a bunch of non-cheerleaders trying to be uni cheerleaders. we take songs and put panther-themed words to them... and then come up with dances. it's huge in the greek community, and since we (the pikes) were paired with the alpha delta pi's (adpi's, 2 year champs), it was definitely a big deal. we practiced probably about 4 nights the night before homecoming for monday, the preliminaries. we moved on to the finals on friday. after rockin the dome friday night, we won! it was awesome because i was really committed to it, and it was a whole lot of fun. we definitely deserved it.

all throughout the week, stuff was going on. panther feud, panther scramble, busy busy busy. unfortunately, i couldn't do most of it cause i was so busy with school and such. northern iowa democrats had a shortened meeting last monday, and the glbtau meeting was an educational meeting about sexually transmitted infections. i also had my midterm for pi kappa alpha pledge ed class, which i felt really good about. and i had to read a really hard book last week! hooray!

the weekend was filled with... cops. but it was fun nonetheless. campaniling for the first time was great. i went with my friend grace, an adpi. it was fun. :). i stayed at the pike house most of the weekend, and marched in the parade on saturday morning. i marched with the northern iowa democrats. we finally got our t-shirts. check it out:

that was an awesome experience. after that i had to go to work until the game. showed up at the game, which was a complete shut out. i came in the 3rd period and the panthers were already winning something like.... 38 to 7? the bears could hardly get a breath in. ;). my mother bought me a uni shirt too, which i thought was awesome. a bit more of panther pride to add to my wardrobe.

saturday night was fun. stayed at the pike house. had some friends over. sunday i worked, and it seems like the spirit of homecoming is gone... until next year, i guess. here are some pictures!
