not only do i have fraternity stuff going on, but i also have NATS on friday. it's basically a solo vocal competition. i'm trying to get all my music perfected and meet with my accompanist, which is proving to be quite the task. i have a lesson tonight at 8:15, and i hope i get everything all settled before then.
last week was a turning point in my academic career. well, i should say a turning point that i actually executed rather than just talking or thinking about it. i withdrew from 3 classes... bringing me down to 12 credit hours. i'm realizing that i really don't want to do music for the rest of my life. it's so hard for me to focus on that as the one thing i do for the rest of my life. it's hard to admit, but i'm glad that i've learned it. it's something i've been thinking about since before college started, and i finally made up my mind.
on a different note, i went to the communcations department major meeting today. i think that will be a more... appropriate major for me... because i love people. plus, it's a flexible major that can be applied to lots of different aspects in life.
last weekend was lots of crazy fun. i went to the adpi date night--a toga party. it was a lot of fun, and i went with a girl i went to high school with. i sang karaoke, danced, and went to bed only to wake up early the next day and drive to iowa city for the queer iowa student conference. it was fun, but the highlight of saturday was going to the rocky horror picture show at midnight back at uni. they had it in the lang auditorium this year, and it was so much more awesome than last year. got to hang out with some friends, and my dorothy costume was pretty sweet. a few pictures:

abbi and myself in our togas!

sarah (my date) and me.

dan, one of my fraternity brothers, and me at jimmy john's post-toga party. (jimmy john's is definitely heaven for college students).

nathan and i after rocky horror. it was such a good time!
so, where do i go from here? oh, election is coming up next tuesday. i'm taking the day off from classes to work for the coordinated campaign in waterloo. i'm really excited for the election--partially because i am looking forward to not having to see politics commercials non-stop, but also the building energy of the first time i get to vote.
also, i've got a few things sitting on my plate right now. first off, i'm thinking about doing student alumni ambassadors next semester. i think it'd be a lot of fun and i enjoy talking and meeting new people, so i figure it'd be an appropriate organization for me to be in. i also am considering doing the mr. uni pageant in a few weeks, more about that later. i want to be a co-chair on the honors student advisory board, and elections are coming up for that as well. and to top it off, i got nominated for a position in the interfraternal council.
hmm... i need time to think about this.
maybe i should just drop out of school and just do student organizations the rest of my college career?
ehhh... probably not.
