so... what's been going on lately?
christmas was okay. my grandma came down, so that was awesome. i also got the ΠΚΑ track jacket i wanted. it's pretty sweet.

winter break was all in all a good time. living in the pike house basement was fun, but cold haha. new years eve was a blast, some people came back to uni just for the holiday, so it was nice to see some more faces around town for a little while. but 2007 is finally here!
so i got to hang out with my friends rachel & kim a lot over break. they're fun girls... and we had a fun time. watching movies & traveling to ihop never gets boring with this fun pair...

in regards to new classes starting, i'm totally in love. i started taking french again, which comes so natural to me, i feel like i'm at home in that classroom. however, it's the lowest level they have because i wanted to make sure i had all my basics down before i moved into advanced level stuff... and unfortunately, i know 95% of everything. i know that my communication & speaking skills need to improve though, so i'm hoping to work on those this semester and eventually spend a semester in france...!
also, i have three other new classes. humanities III seems to be going quite well. it's my only honors class this semester besides the presidential scholar seminar, and the professor is really intelligent and knows what he's talking about it. i'm really gonna love that class. also, i am taking international relations too for my eventual political communication major. it's really interesting to me, and luckily i attended a conference about international politics my junior year of high school... i know a little bit about what's going on. last, but certainly not least, the presidential scholar seminar is called "freedom, community, and social control." wow. we had class on monday, and based on how much i just love to sit and ponder about people and why they do stupid things and how people are controlled by society... i know i'm gonna love that class too.
so ALL GOOD CLASSES. i lucked out. phew.
also, i decided to start taking care of myself. i didn't first semester, and just like every freshman, i put on some weight. so i'm watching what i eat and am finally taking advantage of the WRC. it's a really awesome place. i went there for the first time on monday to work out, and they have all kinds of machines and stuff. great facility. i'll definitely be in there multiple times a week the rest of the semester keeping my body fit as well as my mind!
unfortunately, i must bring this entry to an end. i'm getting ready to leave for iowa city and des moines(at 4). gina (the president of the northern iowa democrats) got a VIP pass to the governor's inauguration and is bringing me for her guest! i've still gotta pack...
