Mindless Ramblings of That One Guy

school is going well... apparently my 9:30 got canceled today (lucky? i guess). i'm about ready to crash again before i have to actually get ready. i'm really liking my africa class right now because we're talking about the rwandan genocide... one of my favorite issues related to africa. we're reading this book that's a collection of stories from people who were affected by the genocide. it's... amazing.

i schedule for classes on friday! i'm excited about that... i have my schedule pretty much picked out... however... i might have a few conflicts which i'm sorta worried about... not sure what i'm gonna do to fix those. oh well. i'm thinking about taking it easy class-wise next semester. i'm taking 18 right now... i might drop down to 16. that'd be nice. but i'm done with all my poly comm classes that i can take until i'm a junior! so that's good... i'll be taking french, some women's & gender studies classes, and some LAC stuff since i always tend to put those off... LIKE MATH!

glbtau celebrated transgender day of remembrance last week... and i had pictures but they accidentally got deleted. i was so mad. it went really well though. i haven't heard any reactions to it, but we had a display in the maucker union ballroom lobby. also, we volunteered at the community aids assistance project drag benefit on saturday night. it's always fun to see drag queens! and later, the theatre department had their annual showing of rocky horror picture show (MIDNIGHT, it was a late night saturday, believe me). my third time!

other than that, i was elected to interfraternity council vice president for the year 2008. i'm also doing a lot of stuff with the iowa pride network's college coalition leadership team, since i'm on that as well. i swear... i just never quit do i?

i voted last week as well... it's kind of fun to be able to do JUST the local voting. plus, there aren't a lot of people at the polls... so convenient.

i also got my first tattoo yesterday! that was an experience. actually, to be completely honest, it really wasn't. lol. since sarah works at omega red, i just go in and hang out at the one on the hill. and i just kind of ended up getting a tattoo. it took about 15 minutes. it's a pi symbol on the back of my left calf. it's pretty sweet.

and last but certainly not least... i'm going to have a great thanksgiving break here next week! my parents are moving... so i have to house sit for them. sarah and brandon are going to come along with me... so it should be an interesting week. we're going to have our own thanksgiving feast i think since my parents will be in colorado.
