Sunny Side of Campus

We started the afternoon of with a short speech from the executive Vice President Daniel Houston, who introduced Principal financial and give a brief prospective of the company. Then the students could choose an area of interest, which they would want to work in and had one on one interaction with the recruiting managers, which I think is an excellent idea to get to know the students and vice-versa. I think this is a very good session where students get to network directly with the recruiters and vice-versa. I think this kind of interactive sessions should be held more often in order for us students to understand of the company and what the company is looking for. This is where I met Ms. Patricia Van Thomme, she is the Second Vice President for Administrative services for Principal. She was looking for Supply chain majors in one of the sessions and I was the only Supply chain major in the whole group, which I was not surprised about because there are only 15 something students who are in that major. She then gave me a few websites and online forms, which help and discuss about Supply chain management. She gave a few pointers about how I should pursue my career and whom I should meet. She also suggested me that I should meet up with my professor who is a supply chain management professor who I later found out that, he is advisor I never met. So I am trying to schedule a meeting and discuss my career prospective. Lets see what happens next……………..
