Arjun and Me

This entry to my blog is special. I am, at this very moment, at O’Hare airport waiting to board my flight to Pittsburgh, PA. My childhood buddy Arjun is graduating with a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Arjun and I have known each other for as long as I can remember. We met in high school back home in India. Apart from his immediate family I am the only person attending his graduation. I can’t wait!

My flight from O’Hare is delayed and it looks like it might be cancelled. If I had known about the delay prior to getting into Chicago, I would have driven to Pittsburgh. The delay is being caused by lack of crew! So all I see in an empty plane. But I am used to such delays. On most of my international flights there is always a gate change which the airline does not inform the passengers about.

Finally I am out of O'Hare. I am now on the plane going to Pittsburgh. It past mid night and owing to the change in time zones I am going to gain an hour while flying to the east coast.

I finally reached Pittsburgh at 2:45am. Saturday was the big day for Arjun, he was becoming a Carnegie Mellon graduate with a degree in MIS. His family flew in from different parts of the US and the world - India, Colorado, California and Oregon. The graduation ceremony was awesome and we had dinner at a very high class Italian restaurant.
