Sunny Side of CampusNovember 24, 2007Black Friday or Thanx Giving !!!!Thanx giving week is one of my favorite holidays. I should say that this thanx giving was a bit different, this year my host family were the hosts for the lunch. I had the privilege to curve the turkey this year, which I think was an exciting thing to do as the turkey was 25 pounds. I actually was planning on shopping the next day as it’s the biggest sale of the year and nick named Black Friday. Last year I was interviewed on TV for being at Target at 6:00 am, well also the person who interviewed me was my friend’s sister-in-law who worked for a local TV station. This year I was going for something big and was mentally ready to stay out in the cold. Well I just said mentally but definitely not physically, as the temperature was around 19 F or -8 C. What I found interesting was that people started lining up at 3:00 pm with their tents and some of them even running generators as they were running space heaters inside their tents. I parked my car close to my spot and we took turns sleeping inside the car as it kept all the wind away. I had 4 layers of clothes on me and also a sleeping bag as well as a few blankets, which still didn’t seem like they were helping much. We did meet 2 other people from New Hampiton who drove 45 minutes to get to Best Buy and they were just ahead of us as they got there 10 minutes before we did.
